THE BRITISH FILM WORLDBritishfilmmagazine is designed to celebrate British films and British film talent acting in and making films around the world. Having launched the title and begun to explore this world in depth, it is staggering to discover just how much is going on. Indeed, it is difficult to keep track of everything that is happening, even when publishing online, as here, it is possible to add any number of new articles every day. The reality is that the British film world is booming. *********************** That British actors, British directors, British cameramen and British talent at every other level of the British film world – from scriptwriters to set designers and editors - working on obviously British films and also on films being made worldwide, from Hollywood and Europe to the Orient and Australia, are very, very busy. Equally important, the high level of their work is often raising the bar for global cinema, setting standards that make them hot commodities and are forcing other filmmakers to try harder. It is only fair that this huge accomplishment should be recognised and that is what Britishfilmmagazine attempts to do. It is a massive task and will take time to develop but gradually it should be possible to build up a complete picture of what is going on from day to day. For now the site has nine different sections, from News and New Films to more specific matters like Filmmaking. Soon it will also be featuring Trailers along with live interviews and Podcasts, plus contributions from leading industry figures. Indeed, the goal is to build the site in every way possible until it finally conveys the dynamism and dimensions of the hugely active British film world. Terence Doyle, Founder / Editor. | ![]() |
