OFF WE GO THEN/MORE CARRY ON

Yes, the Sixties are alive and well in this new film, which is not only a homage to the original Carry On crew but makes use of their contemporaries, finding the humour by transporting them to the modern day.

**************

Transporting them, indeed!

The essence is that a motley collection of country bumpkins, true innocents at heart despite an apparent taste for inneuendo, set out from rural Hampshire for a pleasant day in the Big City.

Frayed nerves all round are the order of the day, first because of what lies ahead in the capital, which seemed further away than the moon to many rural dwellers back then.

Second, because they are not used to sharing such a confined space with each other, the various classes, nationality, body sizes and daft personalities having to squeeze together, literally, in the aging coach.

But they are polite to a fault and the journey holds fair promise until it takes a wrong turn and suddenly arrives four decades later, in London 2008.

Needless to say, the modern city holds more than a few surprises for them, not least of all a host of unimagined inventions and social mores, which test the mettle and the Carry On wit of the whole troupe.

An admirable trailer introduces the host characters, a mixture of trained and untrained players, all very convincing, without the distraction of an single big name among them.

Off We Go Then is in post production and will be looking for a Christmas release.
