MONEY FOR END CREDITS

You can make a film for less than the cost of a box of popcorn at the cinema but here is some free money if you have grander plans.

As part of its twice yearly Completion Fund the UK film Council has put £35,000 on the table to be divided among seven filmmakers needing a little help just to finish their work.

That’s right. That is £5,000 for the troubling bits like post production. Think of the finishing flourishes you could add if you had your hands on that cache.

You need to have a rough cut of a short running up to 15 minutes to be considered and the deadline for entries is Friday, May 30th, 2008.

The works in progress will be assessed by Maya Vision International, the filmmakers behind the widely admired documentary Once Upon A Time In Iran (main photo).
