HOUSE OF FEAR/SUCH FUN

Remember Cornwall, home of the happy holidaymaker? Oops! Now it is home of a new horror film studio! Yes, blood and gore are now an integral part of the West Country scene. But don’t be too afraid for the moment. According to the fiendish cinematic minds behind the project, it seems that horror can be fun.

*****************************************************

Or, if not fun exactly, at least profitable.

Stealing a page or two out of the Roger Coram and Hammer Fillms school of the 60s, the archly named House of Fear film studio sees itself as a "home" – how comforting – for "creative people interested in the horror genre".

Want to make a horror film or be in one or just watch a few? Then just press the bell and enter the House of Fear where they develop and produce the genre for distribution in the UK, USA and internationally on DVD or on their own television station, coincidentally named, www.houseoffear.tv, and via sales company internetgore.com.

In other words, HoF is set up to do everything to make a good horror movie except cut off your own head off. Just joking.

For starters, Fear has three main projects: the promisingly titled Kannibal; Rylett, a film about a secret agent fighting against devil worshipers; and The Raven, due to be Fear's first theatrical release in June.

The first segment of The Raven, Evil Calls, has already been released on DVD via www.internetgore.com

Oh, and Fear is also paying tribute to past horror greats, with an 8 part documentary series on Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee, Bela Lugosi, Boris Karloff, Vincent Price, Alfred Hitchcock, Sherlock Holmes and Hammer Films, entitled Horror Legends.

Hungry for more horror? HoF is offering a free monthly e-magazine featuring interviews with people within the world of horror. Just enrol free in the fan club via the website www.houseoffear.co.uk
