GYPO PRODUCER FETEDProducer Elaine Wickham and director Jan Dunn, the team behind the celebrated film Gypo, are on a roll. Selected as one of Europe's leading new producers in Cannes this year, Wickham was able to prove the worth of her laurels at the Festival by announcing a new slate of three films with Dunn. First, the accolade for Wickham, from the Hamburg-based, pan-European promotional organisation called European Film Promotion (EFP). Each year it selects 21 producers for a strand at Cannes called Producers on the Move, a networking initiative that takes place during the Festival. Since being launched in 2000, Producers On The Move has enabled over 120 up-and-coming European producers to meet opposite numbers from all over Europe to discuss current projects and lay the foundation for future collaborations at roundtable meetings and co-production lunches.
