EDINBURGH FEST FILMSSummer must be well underway, whatever the weather, because the Edinburgh International Film Festival has announced its programme for this year. The Festival runs from August 15th to 26th and when it wraps, roll on winter. As always, the Fest goes out of its way to promote British film as a distinct entity, opening this year with David (Young Adam, Asylum) MacKenzie’s latest, Hallam Foe, starring Jamie Bell (photo) as something of a Peeping Tom rather than Billy Elliott. It has set aside Gala Nights for Matthew (Lock, Stock) Vaughan’s much anticipated fantasy Stardust and, more remarkably, for both docs We Are Together and In The Shadow of The Moon.
