CONDEMNED CHAOS EXACTLY

Feeling the need for a little testosterone action. Here are two Brit strong men delivering exactly what their respective tins promise.

In the more unconventional of the two action offerings, kicking Vinnie Jones shoulders the burden for Britain.

In an outlandish reality TV programme, he is one of the "lucky" ten condemned prisoners from around the globe who are isolated on a remote island to fight to the death, with the final survivor (if there is one!) going free.

Chief among Jones's adversaries is affable Steve Austin, who Vinnie, as an veritable neophyte, first met away back in 1998 on Capital Carnage.

In the second film, in more familiar urban surroundings, tough guy Jason Statham punches his way forward as a Seattle detective showing the ropes to rookie Ryan Phillippe as they pursue bank robber Wesley Snipes intent on making money unconventionally, not by the sackload but, more subtly, according the The Chaos Theory.

The usual extras add to the firepower on both packages.

For instance, on The Condemned, the DVD includes: a featurette The Making Of; an audio commentary from writer/director Scott Wiper; storyboard sequences; and the original theatrical trailer.

Both DVDs are out on March 24, 2008 and both retail at £15.99.
