"YOU & I"

A long hot Moscow summer has ended for Roland "Killing Fields" Joffe, as he has finished shooting his new film "You & I".

It all began back in June when the film was labelled with the troubling title "Finding t.A.T.u", because it was based on a novel called “t.A.T.u Come Back” by a Russian politician, the comeback referring to a career return for a Russian band called TATY.

Yes, TATY, pronounced ‘tatty', and you can see why that might not go down well internationally.

Dubbed an “musical drama”, the story follows Janie, a friendless American teenager, who escapes her lonely life in Moscow when she meets and falls in love with Lana, a fellow fan of said pop group.

Alas, the friendless, lonely life is soon followed by rock’s familiar world of dangerous obsession, drug abuse and murder. Well, maybe not always murder.

London’s California clean-living Mischa Barton plays the lead in this coming-of-age drama and may have picked up a few new tunes for her MP3 as the film soundtrack features original material from t.A.T.u alongside tracks from their forthcoming new album and the duo themselves make al cameo appearance.
