"THESE FOOLISH THINGS"

Was there ever subject matter better suited to - or more often used for – cinema than the “love triangle? Now here is another one.

This one is a period piece, set in 1930s London, in the West End to be precise, where two actors, rising Brits Zoe Trapper and David Leon (main photo, right) , play two rising Brit actors.

He’s a playwright actually, and they are in love but failing, rejected by “The Establishment”.

Sound familiar? Now for the wrinkle: A fading matinee idol, Mark Umbers, takes up their cause, finds an angel, Angelica Huston, and the show goes now.

Of course, every show needs a director, in this case Andrew Lincoln, and in due course Trapper becomes involved with him, leading her to a heartrending decision that will affect all their lives forever.

Want to know which was she leaps?

All will be revealed on a Showbox DVD called “These Foolish Things” for a mere £12.99 on 8th October.
